Home Remodeling Industry Expected To See Growth in 2013

Contractors around the country have noted a spike in demand for home remodeling projects during 2013, a trend that is expected to continue. According to a recent forecast from the National Association of Home Builders there will be a 2.4% increase in remodeling spending this year among single-family home owners.

The 55 and older housing market showed significant improvement as well, according to the study. “We continue to see increased optimism from builders and developers in the 55+ housing segment,” said Bob Karen, chairman of NAHB’s 50+ Housing Council and managing member of the Symphony Development Group. “Those customers who had been on the sidelines waiting for more stability in their local markets are starting to make their move toward either purchasing a home or renting an apartment that is designed to more specifically suit their lifestyle.” To read the full report click here.
